Learning
Individual and team learning programs centre on world-class continuous improvement, aka Lean, principles and methodologies.
Training is organized into levels of expertise that can be applied organization-wide with individuals, teams and/or departments. Lean is both an organizational strategy and philosophy that positions the achievement of value as a North Star of leadership and operational excellence.

Ongoing strategic counsel and curriculum development to enhance key aspects of high-performing teams, and purpose-driven organizations.
Areas of focus include entrepreneurship, innovation, influence, succession planning, new employee orientation, transformational leadership, leadership for technical and remote teams, problem-solving and operational excellence.

OUR STORY
Firsthand Leadership was started in 2018, by a Ph.D. educator, gold medal athlete, and canoeing enthusiast.
In today's complex ecosystem of unprecedented business opportunities, challenges, and emerging issues, Firsthand Leadership pairs systems thinking with systems solutions, and experiential learning on the waters of Lake Ontario.
Principal and Founder, Dr. Ernest Byers is a C-1 canoeist with a history of paddling that started on the St. Lawrence River as part of the Pointe Claire Canoe Club, to becoming a medal-winning Master's competitor for the Balmy Beach Canoe Club in Toronto.
